I’ll be writing occasional blog posts over on that site as well, so I figured I’d copy the important ones over here for MAXIMUM CONVENIENCE!! Here it is…

This past weekend, we Curry boys had the great privilege of playing the 60th Annual Florida Folk Festival. We got to meet so many wonderful people, play music to a very gracious crowd, and consume some very reasonably priced beers. If they’ll have us, we’ll certainly be back next year.

But before we move on, a couple very large “thank-yous” are in order. First, we’d like to thank our dear friends Rick and Nelle, who have been two of our most loyal supporters. For the past couple years, these two human dynamos have put on a great music showcase called the From the Heart Music Hour and have been kind enough to feature some permutation of The Currys in each and every show. They are even taking us on tour in Ireland this summer! During a relatively recent From the Heart show, we were lucky enough to meet country legend Billy Dean and for reasons that are beyond us, he seemed to like the sounds we were making. This leads us to our second colossal thank-you. Billy was gracious enough to invite us to play a few tunes during his headlining set at the aforementioned Florida Folk Festival. The response was overwhelming and we had a blast and we really can’t thank Billy enough. And on top of that rush of adrenaline, we had the pleasure of playing as the back-up band to Billy’s ultra-talented daughter, Hannah Dean. It was a good weekend.
